Read-a-thon Part 2 - hour 7-12

I can't believe we're 1/4 the way through already!

So far I've finished one book - The Clothes They Stood Up In and am nearly through Daughters-in-law, approximately 500 pages in total. Roughly on track for both my goals.

Hour 7 Mini-Challenge: Treausre Hunt

I found two books that had the three words: tree snow weapon

Now I want to read one of them :)

Hour 10 Mini-Challenge: Party Planning

What book is your party themed around?

The Great Gatsby - it's not only one of my all-time favourite books, but it's pretty much one party after another.

What food will you serve?

Oysters on the shell, canapés, a chocolate fountain

What’s your signature drink?

Bathtub gin. But I'd also mix some Belmont Marks, which is my version of a bourbon lemonade

What games will you play?

Lots and lots of mind games. And maybe Cards Against Humanity or Taboo to make things a little uncomfortable.

What party favors will you send home with your guests?

A pink shirt and a puppy.

Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now? The Duchess by Linda Griff
2. How many books have you read so far? 3.5
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha - I've been meaning to read it for ages.

4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? No interruptions at all, other than emails that can wait.  It helps that my mother and sister are out of town and I'll be seeing some friends briefly tonight.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? How fast it's gone. I can't believe it's nearly been 12 hours.

  2. Irene from Team Mr. Popper here. I hope you're enjoying the readathon so far. Please remember that it's all about having fun, so if you feel more like snacking than reading, then go ahead. This event is the perfect excuse for snacking!
I'm sure you'll reach your goal. You can do this!

Good luck in my challenge :)
